Navigate 3.2.1 Tools for Deciding on an LMS Quest

At first glance Capterra offers an overwhelming list of LMS software providers. However in order to find the optimal application to be used in the K-12 sector I elected to filter the results based on the categories and rationale below.

Number of Users- 49 (classroom sizes will typically not exceed this number in a traditional or online format.

Deployment would be Web Based

Features will include but are not limited to:
  • Blended Learning
  • Branded Website
  • Built-In Course Authoring
  • Certification Management
  • Mobile Learning
  • Social Learning
  • Testing / Assessments
Based on these categorizations I retrieved the following list that indicated the right software options for my sector.

The compiled list provided was

LearnUpon
Edvance360
 EDU 2.0
ExxTend Learning
JoomlaLMS
OpenLearning Platform
Virtual Learning Platform

From this list I have concluded that Edvance360 is the best option as it provides a platform to create instructor led, self-paced lessons that are SCORM and Common Core compliant Additionally it offers the testing, mobile capabilities, social learning feature and additional web 2.0 technology for relational learning.
