Communicate 2.1.1 Identify Stakeholders
- Do the descriptions correlate to your perception?
The descriptions provided in the course quest correlate with my perception of the role of each stakeholder. With specific interest in both the student and parental roles, being as I currently fill both of these roles seeing after my two children while enrolled in school online.
- How can they be expanded upon or described further?
Each role could be expanded upon and described further by breaking down the hierarchy in each role. For example instructor could be specified as the main instructor versus an assistant or substitute instructor. The student could be expanded upon by academic sectors K-12, higher learning, pre-development, etc. Parents could be further described by the effectiveness of involvement based on the demographic makeup of home, single, multi, traditional, etc. The Local School Administration could be described further in order of governance state vs. local, city vs. district, etc.
- Are there other stakeholders within an online environment not considered above?
As stakeholder is described as those who work collaboratively to produce a successful learning community I feel other prominent stakeholders missing from the Quest are Technical Support, and the Designers and Developers of the online community and platforms that are used in distance education.
